Panera Bread

Panera Bread offers discount to International Women’s Show
Panera Bread of Southeast Michigan is partnering with the International Women’s Show to offer coupons for $1 off admission to the show. The coupons are available at all metro Detroit Panera Bread locations while supplies last. The show will be held April 29-May 2 at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi. On May 2, Panera Bread will pass out complimentary mini Strawberry & Cream Scones to the first 200 people who enter the show. Club honors “Women Firsts”
The National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women Inc. Pontiac Club honored the following women in their annual “Women Firsts” program: Portia McIntosh-Cade — first African-American woman to serve as clinical leader in the Adult Intensive Care Unit at St. Joseph Hospital-Pontiac; Tara Long Scott, DPM — first African-American woman to hold the position of chief of podiatry at Providence Hospital in Southfield and Novi; and Cheryl Strong — first African-American woman physical therapist and coordinator of clinical education at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.

Huntington Bank named Michigan’s best overall lender

The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Michigan District Office presented its fiscal 2009 lender awards recently. Huntington National Bank was named Michigan Lender of the Year, SBA’s award for the best overall performance. Huntington National Bank approved 184 SBA loans worth more than $24 million in fiscal 2009. Huntington also received the SBA’s Express Lender of the Year award.
Citizens Bank received the PLP Lender of the Year award for the most loans approved by a preferred lender. mBank received the Business Development Lender of the Year award and the Community Lender of the Year award. Chase Bank received the SBA 504 Lender of the Year award and the New Markets Lender of the Year award. In fiscal 2009, the Michigan District Office guaranteed 1,285 loans worth more than $312 million. Over the past five years, SBA has provided guaranties on 13,615 loans worth almost $2.4 billion to small businesses in Michigan. For more information, visit www.sba.gov.
