Rave Computer, a computer hardware integrator with its corporate headquarters in Sterling Heights, has hired new employees in marketing, sales, business development and product development.
In July 2009, Rave Computer moved its headquarters to a nine-acre campus shared with the Macomb-Oakland University INCubator and is located within the “Defense Corridor” and Technology Advancement SmartZone of Sterling Heights. The expanded 35,000-square-foot green facility houses a larger Technology Integration Center, which provides increased efficiency and flexibility in Rave’s engineering and manufacturing processes. Additionally, the headquarters was built to meet LEED-CI Silver Certification.

SOUTHFIELD
Acclaimed architect to give lecture at Lawrence Tech

Rafael Vinoly, a prominent international architect, will give a lecture in conjunction with a course taught by A. Alfred Taubman at Lawrence Technological University at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13. The lecture, which is free, will be given in the Architecture Building auditorium at Lawrence Tech, 21000 W. 10 Mile Road, Southfield.
Earlier in the day, Vinoly will be a guest lecturer at the College of Architecture and Design for the course, “Real Estate Practice: Land Economics,” which Taubman, a pioneering developer of shopping malls and retail centers, is teaching during the fall semester at Lawrence Tech.
Vinoly in 1964 founded what became one of the largest architectural practices in South America. He moved to the United States in 1978 and founded Rafael Vinoly Architects PC in New York City in 1983. He won an international competition to design the Tokyo International Forum in 1989, and his firm was one of the finalists in the World Trade Center competition.

Troy Dental Care partners with Dentists R Us

Troy Dental Care announces its partnership with Dentists R Us, a school-based mobile dentist program, which is offered to every school in Michigan. It provides each child with an exam, cleaning, x-rays (if needed), fluoride treatments and sealants. A detailed report is sent home regarding what services were provided and the result of each exam and each child will also receive a free toothbrush.
