Main Street Bank acquires mortgage division of Paramount Bank

Main Street Bank, formerly known as Nstar Community Bank, last month closed on its purchase of the Home Lending Division of Farmington Hills-based Paramount Bank.
Joel Dorfman, Main Street Bank co-founder and chairman of the board, said the acquisition has enabled the Bingham Farms-based bank to provide economies of scale in the mortgage sector.
According to Dorfman, all of the Paramount employees working in its mortgage division were offered positions with Main Street Bank.
The bank serves small- to- medium sized business and individual accounts with an emphasis on personalized service, a broad spectrum of products, and operating standards that emphasize and support the region. It is at 31780 Telegraph Road, north of 13 Mile, in Bingham Farms.

New medical building contract awarded

Schonsheck Inc. of Lenox Township was awarded a design/build contract for a new medical office building in Lenox Township.
Preliminary plans call for a state-of-the-art, 20,000-square-foot building which will house a family practice and include areas for physical therapy, diagnostics, laboratories and a pharmacy. Construction is slated to begin in the spring of 2011.
