Shopping and cocktail event to showcase women-owned businesses

Michigan Women’s Foundation is hosting its Spring Marketplace Shopping & Cocktail Event, 5:30–8 p.m. Monday, May 23 at The Townsend Hotel, 100 Townsend St. in Birmingham.
The event showcases local, female-owned businesses that have received support through Michigan Women’s Foundation microloan and mentorship programs.
Featured products and services from dozens of women-owned, Michigan-based businesses include Detroit Fiberworks, handcrafted wearable art; Mutual Adoration, furniture and home décor using repurposed wood; Peacock Room of Detroit clothing and accessory boutique; Trisha’s Garage, stylish clothing and accessories; City Girl Soap of Pontiac, goat milk based soaps; and Busted of Detroit, bras, foundation and lingerie shop for women of all sizes and shapes.
The event is free to attend and includes snacks and a cash bar.
