Teacher certification seminar offered
Saginaw Valley State University will present a teacher certification seminar from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, at St. Clair Community College’s Port Huron Campus, 323 Erie Street, Port Huron in Room 150 of the Citizens First Michigan Technical Education Center. The seminar is for those who already have a bachelor’s degree or higher and want to obtain initial certification in elementary or secondary education from the State of Michigan. New Domino’s Pizza location opens
Domino’s Pizza franchisees Ron Asmar and Jason Dally opened a new location in Warren, at 6115 E. 10 Mile Road. The shop is open for delivery and take out from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-midnight Friday and Saturday.

FedEx driver to compete
Rick Bailey, a driver for FedEx Freight, based in Warren and a resident of Macomb Township, will be among the more than 450 professional drivers competing in the “National Truck Driving Championships in Columbus, Ohio. He will compete in the 4-Axle class, one of nine vehicle classes.

Attorney elected to Harvard post

Miller Canfield principal, Matthew F. Leitman, who works in the Troy office, was recently elected to a four-year term on the Harvard Law School Association Council.
Leitman, who graduated from Harvard Law School magna cum laude in 1993, has also served as the president of the Harvard Law School Association of Michigan for the past three years.
At Miller Canfield, Leitman practices in the areas of criminal defense, complex commercial litigation, and appellate litigation.
