Shop Local Expo is May 7 in Lake Orion

The 11th annual Shop Local Expo is 4-7 p.m. Thursday, May 7 at the Lake Orion High School Field House. It is organized by the Orion Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Birmingham Sealcoat, Crittenton Hospital, Golling Buick GMC, James C. Komendera DDS & Associates, Knights Tent and Party Rental, Legal Shield, Millage Family Chiropractic, Northern Flooring, Oakland Press, The Lake Orion Review and Wally Edgar Chevrolet.
The expo will feature more than 100 businesses offering information about their products and services and selling merchandise.

Technical career fair is April 27 in Farmington Hills

Technical Career Night is 7-9 p.m. Monday, April 27 at the Costick Center, 28600 Eleven Mile Road, Farmington Hills. Participants will learn about an array of post-secondary education options. It includes information about vocational and technical occupations and how to obtain skills that create work-force readiness. Lisa Katz, Executive Director of the Workforce Intelligence Network (WIN) of Southeast Michigan, will give the keynote address, "Middle Skills Careers -- The Promising Future." WIN is a consortium of seven Michigan Works! Agencies and nine community colleges formed to create a talent system for regional employers.

Oakland County tech248 MeetUp is 2-4 p.m. April 21 at Oakland County International Airport-Terminal Building, 6500 Highland Road, Waterford Township,  It is a monthly meeting for the Northwest District and is free to attend.

French Chamber to host annual gala and awards in Bloomfield Hills

The French-American Chamber of Commerce, Michigan Chapter (FACC Michigan) will host its annual gala and awards ceremony on Friday, April 24 at Oakland Hills Country Club, 951 W Maple Road, Bloomfield Hills. A portion of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors without Borders. The FACC Michigan gala and awards ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction, dinner at 8 p.m. and speakers beginning at 9 p.m. An afterglow with live music will begin at 10 p.m. Gala tickets are $160 for FACC members and $190 for non-members.
